Support for Change
Issues include women's healthcare, gender imbalance in the government and workplace, difficulties in finding quality and affordable childcare, which tends to impact women most and combating violence against women and girls. We also aim to promote STEM learning for girls in our city and look at real issues like period poverty.
For full details of our values, please see our Charter.
We are activists, fully prepared to protest when required.
We believe that every woman has the right to live a life free from violence, sexism, misogyny, patriarchy, racism, Islamophobia, Anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia, oppression and discrimination.
We aim to provide support, resources, and advocacy for women in our community.
Most of our team members originate from the "Ripper and Co Protest Group" - a group of people from across the city and indeed countrywide, horrified that a cocktail bar/restaurant could open in our city, exploiting the brutal deaths of women in the name of profit. We are delighted Ripper & Co closed in March 2026.
We are non-political, though some of us are affiliated with political parties. We work with everyone to improve the lives of Women and Girls across society and are guided by our foundational members.
Equally, we will challenge any political party that promotes a policy not consistent with our values - see our Foundation Statement and Charter.
We are a friendly group of women and always welcome new members.
